Why can't a learner see a course?

Unpublished course, team without access, change of team, LMS or suspended platform: the checks to make, in order.

In FAQ and troubleshooting

A course appears in a learner's My trainings when two conditions are met: it is published, and it is assigned to one of their teams. If the learner sees "Either there are no trainings to display, or you don't have access.", or if a course is missing from their list, check the following points in order.

Is the course published?#

Open Trainings › your course. Under its title, a tag shows Draft or Published.

  • Draft: your learners cannot see it. Publish it: see Publish a course.
  • Published, with the note "You have unpublished changes": the learner sees the course, but not your latest changes. Click Publish to show them.

Does the learner's team have access to the course?#

Access is given by team, never learner by learner. A shared link is not enough: without access through their team, the learner cannot open the course.

  1. Open Employees › Learners and find the learner's team in the Team column.
  2. Open the course's Access tab and check that this team is ticked. If not, tick it and click Save.

Only Administrators and Content managers can change access. In the Progress tab, the message "Nobody has access to this training" means that no team has access to it. See Give access to a course.

Has the learner changed team?#

  • If they were moved with Keep history, the courses of their former team are under the Past trainings filter on their My trainings page.
  • Otherwise, they no longer have access, unless their new team also has access. Give access to their new team.

See Move learners to another team.

Do they go through your LMS?#

A learner who opens their courses from your LMS is placed in the LMS default team, and in the teams linked to their LMS groups. Assign the course to one of these teams. Otherwise, they see "You do not have access to this course". See LMS: add courses, manage groups and grades.

Do they see the Access suspended page?#

Your platform is read-only, for example after the end of the trial or when the credit has run out: no learner can take their courses. See What does the "Access suspended" message mean?.

Has the deadline passed?#

This does not make a course disappear: after the deadline, the course stays visible and accessible. Its card shows "Expired Xd ago", where X is the number of days.

Does the card show Unavailable?#

The learner sees the course but can no longer open it: they have reached its Time limit (excluding videos). To let them continue, increase or turn off this limit in the course's Settings. The setting applies to all learners. See Course completion rules.
